Lindsay took third place in the most prestigious amateur competition in the world. After two years of not competing, Lindsay jumped up to the middle weight division at the Nationals in 2005 and finished in third place.
Lindsay took second place at the 2003 Nationals in the light weight class and then took a break from competing to tend to her Fitness Inferno personal training business and to purchase a home. She had very little time on her hands to do much else. As the dust settled, she was ready to take the stage again.
Lindsay successfully switches from fitness to bodybuilding and places second in her first two national competitions. In August of 2002, Lindsay took the overall at the Georgia Coastal to re-qualify to compete as a bodybuilder in the year of 2003. Lindsay placed second at the 2003 USAs held on July 25th after only 4 weeks of preparation. She decided to try to compete as a bodybuilder because she was getting flown into Vegas to do a photo shoot with Muscle Elegance. Denise Masino told her that she wanted her look to be leaner and harder, therefore, Lindsay figured since she had to diet and train intensely for that four week period, she should make the most of it and also compete while she was there. This was her first attempt as a bodybuilder at the national level. She came in as a stunning and very feminine light weight. She had great stage presence and her prejudging and finals routines were brilliantly choreographed. She already looked like a pro after only four weeks of preparation.
